IMG_20210914_170743366.jpg

This combined two day course - in association with co-host ‘Meticulous: Creative Upholstery Courses & Restoration’ - offers the opportunity to make and upholster your own footstool from start to finish.

The course will have an emphasis on traditional methods of both construction and upholstery, to give a unique experience in two very different crafts.

You will spend the first day making the solid timber stool at the workbench under the tuition of Steve of Dovetail Woodworking, using both machine and hand tools.

Day two will see you in the experienced hands of Katie, upholstering the stool using a combination of traditional and modern methods and materials.

Both day’s tuition will be at the Acava Studios, Spode Works, Stoke.

Great footstool making course with Steve. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking of doing it - it was really enjoyable. I learnt a lot and was so pleased with the end result. It works well that he has teamed up with Katie to run the second day of the course to do the upholstery. Steve is a lovely guy and gives you all the details and information needed to make the most of the course - I would certainly do another course with Steve.
